The former Arsenal defender, who collected 43 caps during his career and played in the World Cup in 1998 and 2002, said his country's national team is good enough to be able to finish in the top eight.
"I hope the UK at least reach the quarter-final phase, but we are not going to be a champion and I think any team that wants to do is have to conquer Brazil, which has a good relationship with the fans during the Confederations Cup," said Keown.
